Office of Neighborhood Livability

DSC_0149Neighborhood Livability - The sum of the factors that add up to a community's quality of life -  including health of the built and natural environments; social stability and equity; economic and educational opportunity; and cultural and recreational possibilities.

The mission of the Office of Neighborhood Livability is to work proactively to improve neighborhood livability in Mount Pleasant through protecting community character, enriching neighborhoods, and administering regulations.

This office will focus on defining ways to enrich and strengthen our neighborhoods--the places where we live, work, and play.  This will be accomplished by defining community character through public involvement plans and processes, and enriching neighborhoods through on-the-ground initiatives and programs. The expansion of programs will be a work in progress over the coming years, as we identify and build the additional resources that we need.
