Roles & Responsibilities
The Public Services Department provides daily services within the Town of Mount Pleasant, in order to enhance the quality of life, safety, and health of the residents. This is accomplished by providing installation, repair, and maintenance services for facilities, grounds, and infrastructure; providing garbage and trash collection; and stormwater management/compliance.
The Public Services Department consists of 1 Section and 5 Divisions (147 Positions):
Administration Section
Provides Leadership, Planning, Operational Management of the Department, as well as Administrative, Customer Service, and Engineering support.
Waste Management Division
Provides Town residents with weekly curbside garbage and trash collection and also supports Town special events.
Grounds Division
Provides installation, repair, and maintenance of Town grounds to include parks, recreation facilities, right of way maintenance along primary roads and also supports Town special events.
Facilities Division
Provides repair, maintenance, and custodial services for Town facilities and also supports Town special events.Infrastructure Division
Provides installation, repair, and maintenance of Town infrastructure to include, roads, sidewalks, street signs, drainage systems, and also supports Town special events.
Stormwater Division
Administers the Town’s MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) permit and works to ensure water quality and proper movement of stormwater via the Town’s stormwater infrastructure.
