This project is part of the Coleman Boulevard Revitalization Project. This is a continuation of Shem Creek Park. The project has a few different aspects to it including an independent pedestrian bridge that will span the creek making a connection with the Coleman Blvd sidewalk on the east side and the existing boardwalk on the west side, an ADA compliant ramp, and a pocket park between Red's Ice House and R.B.'s Seafood Restaurant. This project is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan in increasing public access to the water, enhancing sense of place, increasing connectivity, and prioritizing the pedestrian environment.
Phase III Update: The final design for Phase 3 to provide a pedestrian overpass with ADA compliant ramp is complete. The project mobilized February 11, 2019. The shed by Tavern and Table was removed April 22, 2019 that allowed work to continue on the pedestrian bridge. The boardwalk by Mount Pleasant Seafood is now reopen! Proceed with caution while construction continues on the bridge. The ADA compliant ramp and pocket park will follow completing Phase 3 of the project.
